Aftercare adjustments included for the first 12 months. Who runs your job ### Billy Hutcherson Director, Bi Folds & Windows Direct of Essex Ltd Billy is the director of Bi Folds & Windows Direct of Essex Ltd — a family-run business incorporated on 20 June 2020 (Companies House No. 12684765) that supplies and installs aluminium bi-fold doors, uPVC and aluminium windows, composite front doors and roof lanterns directly to homeowners across Essex, Kent and Hertfordshire. What we see locally ## Common bi-fold doors problems in Theydon Bois Patterns that come up specifically because of Theydon Bois's housing stock — typical property age, build style, and local exposure. ### Bi-fold tracks fouling on uneven thresholds Most Theydon Bois bi-fold callbacks we get asked to fix are tracks that weren't shimmed level at install. Once a track's twisted, the doors won't sit square. We level and DPM every threshold at survey, before doors are ordered. ### Underspecified pane sizes Aluminium bi-folds can run pane sizes most installers won't quote — but only with the right system and the right glass. Going too small for the opening costs you light and visual width. We size to the opening, not to a default catalogue. ### Cheap PVC bi-folds in large openings PVC bi-folds work in small openings but the frames are bulky and the pane size is restricted. For most Theydon Bois rear extensions, aluminium gives slimmer sightlines and a 25–30-year frame life — usually the right call. ### Hardware corrosion from coastal/exposed sites Marine-grade hardware matters for any Theydon Bois install with significant exposure. We specify upgraded rollers and locks where the site demands it — standard hardware doesn't last in the wrong location.
