Careful timber-effect replacement is normally the right answer for windows facing the street. Northfleet and the DA11 stock leans more toward 1930s semis and post-war housing, where standard replacement window programmes are more typical. We carry a full product range into Gravesend — from period-friendly timber-effect through to modern aluminium. The Thames riverside aspect adds a salt-air consideration on north-facing properties. Marine-grade powder-coat is recommended on aluminium near the river. Gravesham Borough handles building control; quote slots typically inside five working days. **Housing stock we work with here:** Victorian terraced housing in central Gravesend, 1930s semis through Northfleet, post-war housing in Singlewell, and conservation-area constraints throughout the older centre. Our vans are around Gravesend Pier, St George's Church, the Thames riverside most weeks, so survey and aftercare visits in Gravesend are easy to diarise. Why Us ## Why Gravesend homeowners choose us for bi-folds ### Period-property specialists Sash and casement replacements on Victorian terraces are a Gravesend regular. We respect the original streetscape — slim profiles, period detailing, careful colour matching. ### Acoustic glass for road-side properties Laminated acoustic units for properties facing busy Gravesend roads. 35dB+ reduction is standard. ### Conservation-area aware We won't propose changes that would face refusal at planning. Survey covers consent requirements upfront. ### Survey within 3–5 working days DA11–DA12 quote slots booked same week. 7am–8pm visit windows seven days. ### Composite door range for newer estates composite door and premium composite both installed weekly across Northfleet and Istead Rise. ### 10-year workmanship guarantee Standard on every Gravesend job. Aftercare adjustments included for the first 12 months. What goes wrong ## Bi-fold problems we get called out to in Gravesend ### Draughty original sash windows Universal across Gravesend's Victorian terraced stock. Slim-profile timber-effect replacements solve the draught and the noise while keeping the period look. ### Listed and conservation-area restrictions Strict in central Gravesend. We confirm consent requirements at survey and specify sympathetic timber-effect replacements where required. ### Salt corrosion on river-facing aluminium Properties facing the Thames need marine-grade powder-coat. Standard polyester degrades visibly within 5 years on north-facing aspects. ### Damp-staining around old timber cills Decades of paint over rotted timber finally giving up. Either splice and repair or full replacement — we'll quote both honestly.
